Aoife O' Sullivan
Carrie Pipperidge
Irish soprano Aoife O’Sullian graduated from the National Opera Studio in 2011 and has been a member of the Jerwood Young Artists Scheme at Glyndebourne Festival Opera. She has recently performed with Opera North in Peter Grimes (2013) and with the Orchestra of Opera North in a concert of Mozart’s Requiem. She has sung with English National Opera in The Way Back Home, Medea, The Pilgrim’s Progress, The Indian Queen, Peter Grimes and Der Rosenkavalier. She has also played Gretel in Hansel and Gretel at Northern Ireland Opera.
On the concert stage, highlights include previous engagements at Carnegie Hall, New York, Wexford Opera Festival, and the National Concert Hall, Dublin.
In 2006, Aoife sang the part of Julie Jordan in Carousel at the Helix in Dublin, in a unique production presented by RTÉ Radio 1. Singers from all over the Republic of Ireland were auditioned by RTÉ for a ‘Mystery Musical’, which was performed live with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and broadcast across Ireland.
Aoife is delighted to be joining the 2015 cast of Carousel to play Carrie Pipperidge.
