Jo Davies trained at Bristol University and at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. She previously directed Opera North's hit production of Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore (2010).
Jo has worked with many of the UK's leading theatre companies, including the National Theatre, Bristol Old Vic and English National Opera, where she directed Aida (2010). She was associate director for Oklahoma! (with Trevor Nunn) for the National Theatre, for Medea (with Deborah Warner) in the West End and on Broadway, and for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (with Adrian Noble) in the West End. She has also directed Bugsy Malone in the West End, Control Freaks at the Battersea Arts Centre, and Henry IV, pt 3 for Birmingham Rep.
