Yvonne has been hailed by the international press as ‘one of the finest singing actresses this country has produced.’
Notable performances include Marilyn Klinghoffer in the film of John Adam’s opera The Death of Klinghoffer, Sieglinde in Die Walkure with Sir Mark Elder and the Hallé, and Leonore in Beethoven’s Fidelio for the Royal Opera. Recent performances have included the title role of Norma for Opera Holland Park, Waltraute in Götterdämmerung with the Hallé, and Fricka in Opera North’s Ring Cycle, which will be repeated in 2016.
Her work varies enormously, from shows such as Carousel to the operas of Verdi, Britten and Wagner, concerts and oratorios. Yvonne has been a regular guest with the Royal Opera House and English National Opera in the UK, and has also sung in the US, Japan, Brazil and Argentina among other destinations. From September 2015, Yvonne is very proud to be joining the teaching staff at the Royal Academy of Music.
Yvonne played Nettie Fowler in Carousel at the Barbican in 2012 and returns to the role for the 2015 tour.
